…And I know I’ve posted Funky Vodka before, but it’s soooo good.

The most talked about performance from Coachella 2012 was definitely the holographic Tupac during the Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg set.  If you haven’t seen the footage yet, check out the video below, it’s pretty surreal. Tupac himself back from the dead thanks to the software developed by Digital Domain, a digital production company that was found by James Cameron and two business partners in 1993. The company has worked on over 80 motion picture projects including “Transformers”,” X-Men”, and “TRON: Legacy” to name a few. AV Concepts is the company charged with projecting the actual image of Tupac on the stage. Nick Smith, AV Concepts’ company president, told Mtv that a comparable project of this nature would cost about $100,000 – $400,000.

I anticipate seeing this special effects technology used at all shows in the near future. It will allow performers and artists to cross genres and add a whole new level of creativity to performances. And you never know, you might come across a Holographic Chachi or two as well
